First Hartford Realty Corporation has recently signed a contractual preferred real-estate developer agreement with Cumberland Farms, Inc.  Our territory includes Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont and Western Massachusetts.  First Hartford is responsible for identifying sites within these markets that would be suitable for a Cumberland Farms gas/convenience store and moving the project through full permitting.  The criteria we use to determine a suitable location include the following: acreage, average daily traffic, competition, demographics and land cost.

After a site is determined to have met the criteria via a site ride with Cumberland Farms personnel it is presented to the Cumberland Farms Real Estate Committee for approval.  After approval, First Hartford will hire and direct a development team consisting of engineers, planners, surveyors, environmental consultants and land use attorney to fully investigate, permit and develop a site plan.
